GUJI RARO STATION
This offering is part of the Heirloom Collection - touring the birthplace of coffee in partnership with Heirloom Kaffa Company, a local couple importing directly to Minnesota from their native Ethiopia.
Raro Coffee Processing Station, located in the famous growing region of Guji, sources coffee cherries from 1500 smallholder farmers in the area. The elevation here is exceptional - over 7000ft above sea level,
The collected produce of the day is pulped with a machine, manually removing the fruit pulp and skin, and graded by density right away.
After a 72-hour fermentation, the coffees are washed in channels using water from Hurufa natural spring. They soak for around 2 hours before drying and packing in jute bags on site.
